Our Organic Sencha(Green tea) is made using the first flush tea leaves of the harvest season, grown in the hidden valleys, surrounded by forests in Kasahara, Kurogi, Yame. The leaves go through a process of the deep steaming which reduces astringency resulting in a sweeter cup with a full body, robust taste, and smoother mouthfeel.
There is a tendency for larger scale tea operations to use a shorter steaming process as it favors the color and shape of the tea leaves. For Tokushiba, the quality of flavor far surpasses the importance of how the tea looks. Our tea then goes through a rigorous sorting process to ensure the highest quality before it is packaged on location, in Kasahara, Yame.
